Coliforms and E.Coli


Simultaneous detection of total coliforms and E.coli in water and food in one tube with Fluorocult® LMX broth. The Galactosidase-reaction is more sensitive (95 %) than the gas-reaction (90 %), and in addition it saves time by producing results within 24-48 hours.
A single culture medium for the detection of total coliforms and E.coli: Chromocult® Coliform Agar combines two chromogenic substrates to enable simultaneous detection of total coliforms and E.coli. It makes identification far simpler. Readycult® Coliforms simplify Total Coliforms and E.coli Testing in Water. The Readycult® tests are supplied in ready-to-use snap pack format. Media preparation is no more required. Simply add the contents of 1 snap pack into 100 ml of water, incubate for 18-24 hours and read results. In case of E.coli, only the combination of fluorescence and indole formation confirms the presence of E.coli. In the case of Total Coliforms the color changes to blue-green.
Lactose TTC Agar with Tergitol® 7 is a selective differential medium for the detection and enumeration of E.coli and coliform bacteria in water using the membrane filtration method. Lactose-positive bacteria produce yellow-orange colonies with yellow halos under the membrane. This method has the double advantage of being both very easy to set-up, read and enumerate the colonies together with the sensitivity of the Membrane Filtration technique.
