E. Coli O157:H7


mEC Broth with Novobiocin and mTSB Broth with Novobiocin are used for the selective enrichment of enterohemorrhagic E.coli in food.
With our unique media granulation technique Novobiocin is already incorporated in the broth. This both saves costs, eases preparation and eliminates incorrect results caused by human error.
Sorbitol MacConkey Agar (SMAC) with CT-Supplement and Fluorocult® E.coli O157:H7 Agar are specific selective isolation and differentiation agar media used for foodstuffs and clinical specimens.
These media comply with the recommendations of USDA-FSIS, German DIN Norm 10167 and FDA-BAM for the detection of E.coli O157.
A powerful alternative to these cultural based methods is the use of Singlepath® E.coli O157:H7, which is an immunological screening test based on the immuno flow principle. Designed to avoid time-consuming and personnel intensive working steps, the technician has to do no more than place a few drops of the enrichment media into the well provided and wait for the result. After enrichment the presence/absence result is available in 20 minutes only. Singlepath® E.coli O157:H7 can also easily be used as identifcation/confirmation test from suspected agar colonies.
