How to use Dehydrated Culture Media
Storage
Dehydrated culture media should be stored in a dry, dark place at a temperature of about +15 to +25°C, the containers should always be well sealed and tightly closed after use to prevent entry of moisture. Absorption of water leads to pH shifts and eventually clumping. If the pH changes on prolonged storage, it can be corrected (see section entitled "pH adjustment"). Dehydrated culture media that have formed clumps must, however, be discarded as they may have undergone chemical changes.
Under ideal conditions, dehydrated culture media in original sealed bottles can generally be stored for at least 5 years after their manufacture (see expiration date on the label) without any
deterioration.
