For generating an anaerobic environment in one to four Petri dishes to permit cultivation of obligate and facultative anaerobes.

Anaerocult® A mini contains components which chemically bind oxygen quickly and completely, creating an oxygen-free (anaerobic) environment and a CO2 atmosphere.

Materials Provided
25 Anaerocult® A mini sachets
25 special incubation bags

Materials Required but Not Provided
Anaerotest® strips (Cat. No. 1.13675)
10ml pipet
Deionized water
Adhesive tape
Anaeroclip® (Cat. No. 14255) or heat sealer

Quality Control
Anaerobiosis is indicated by the color change in the Anaerotest® strip from blue to white within four hours.* Stock anaerobic organisms may also be used.

* Anaerobic conditions are achieved in about one hour. This is well before the 3-4 hours it takes for the indicator strip to decolorize.

Procedure for In Vitro Diagnostic Use

Figure 1

1. Moisten the reaction zone of an Anaerotest® strip (Cat. No. 1.13675) with water.

Figure 2

2. Stick the Anaerotest® strip onto the lid of one of the inoculated Petri dishes (the reaction zone must point downwards and hang freely in the open space).
