Anaerotest®

1.13675

Contents
50 test strips

Application
For the detection of an anaerobic atmosphere.

Principle
The blue oxidized form of the dye methylene blue is converted in an oxygen-free (anaerobic) medium inot the (colorless) leucomethylene blue. In the presence of oxygen the reduced leucobase passes again into the oxidized form (blue).

Composition
Methylene blue - Reducing agent - Stabilizer

Directions
The indicator is used together with Cat. No. 13677, Anaerocult® A in the anaerobic jar, with Cat. No. 13676. Anaerocult® A mini for up to 4 Petri dishes. Anaerotest® can also be used with other anaerobiosis systems.

Procedure
Moisten the reaction zone with one drop of distilled water and put Anaerotest® into the anaerobic jar.
When sing Cat. No. 13677, Anaerocult® A and Cat No. 1.10641.0007, Anaerocult® A mini, draw exact instructions from the respective package inserts.

Evaluation
In an anaerobic atmosphere the reaction zone is decolorized in about four hours* (change of color from blue to white).
*Anaerobic conditions while using Anaerocult® A (Cat. No. 13677) are achieved in approximately one hour. This is well before the 3-4 hours it takes for the indicator strip to decolorize.

Stability
See expiration date.

Storage
Store dry and tightly closed at +15°C to +25°C. Remove only the number of strips required at the time. Do not touch reaction zones of the test strips. Tightly close container immediately after removal of test strip(s).
