Casein hydrolysate (acid hydrolyzed) for vitamin media

EMD Cat. No. 1.02238.0500
500 g

The hydrolysate is obtained by degrading casein with hydrochloric acid; vitamins and other growth-promoting compounds are largely destroyed in this process. This hydrolysate is thus suitable for the preparation of culture media employed in the bacteriological assay of vitamins. It is not suitable as the only substrate for the indole test.
