A novel cell-permeable BH3 mimetic that induces apoptosis by specifically preventing BH3 domain-mediated interaction between pro-apoptotic and anti-apoptotic members of the Bcl-2 family (Ki = 2.4 - 7.8 µM). Inhibits the binding of Bak BH3 peptide to Bcl-xL (Ki = 2.4 - 7.8 µM) by targeting the BH3 binding pocket of Bcl-xL.
