Search for Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

Our MSDS search is an information service containing all of EMD's dangerous and most of our non-dangerous products. In addition to the English basic version, without consideration of local regulations, each MSDS is also available in local language versions. Precise data including a clearly arranged presentation of EMD's MSDS ensures maximum safety in the laboratory.

EMD's MSDS:

  • conform to EU legislation
  • are available in various local language versions
  • ensure world-wide safety

For your safety

Anyone handling laboratory chemicals should be fully aware of the potential risks involved and take appropriate safety measures before actually working with the substances. These safety measures include the technical handling of chemicals, the personal safety for people working with them as well as environmental considerations. EMD's MSDS provide this essential information.

Dynamic Information Conforming to EU Legislation

EMD & Merck's MSDS meet the requirements of European law which are based on Directive 91/155/EEC (until May 31st, 2007) and Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council - REACH - (since June 1st, 2007). Other EC Directives govern their contents, notably Directive 67/548/EEC with its adaptations to technical progress (ATP). Accordingly, the information contained in MSDS is dynamic in nature.

In the Official Language of Your Country

It is not sufficient to issue the MSDS in English for all countries. Each EU Member State, and increasingly also non-EU countries, require that any hazardous product sold to them must be accompanied by MSDS in the official local language(s).
