Recombinant, human GSK-3β fused at the N-terminus to a His•Tag® sequence and expressed in E. coli. A dual specificity kinase that plays important roles in insulin- and Wnt-mediated cellular signalings. In AD (Alzheimer’s disease), GSK3β has a major role in microtubule stability by its ability to phosphorylate the microtubule associated protein tau. Its known substrates include glycogen synthase, p90rsk, Tau, c-Jun, and CREB. MW: 53,000-56,000.
