Caspases belong to a family of cysteine proteases that cleave substrates at the carboxyl terminus of asparate residues. Active caspase-3 is one of the main caspases responsible for producing the morphological cellular changes known as apoptosis. This ELISA assay kit measures active caspase-3 in cell extracts.
