Process Separations
View our 2006 ACS Presentation:
Scale-up modeling of pressure flow
behavior of semi-rigid biochromatography resins
| Today there is an increasing demand for faster, more cost
effective research, development and production of APIs. To accomplish this we
see a significant increase use of chomatographic techniques to shorten research,
development and manufacturing timelines. Indeed many of the biologically
derived compounds are currently unable to be produced without the use of
chromatography. To this end, EMD offers an extensive range of high quality,
readily available products for today's process technologist.

Our product line extends from our high capacity Fractogel®
EMD biochromatography media
and our industrial enzymes such as Benzonase®
endonuclease and Proteinase K, to our standard silicas for normal phase
chromatography and bonded or derivatized silicas using both irregular
LiChroprep® silica and
spherical LiChrospher®
silica.
To technically support our users, we unveiled a Chromatography Technical
Center located in Gibbstown, NJ dedicated to customer support and technical training on chromatography
scale-up, column packing and troubleshooting.
To specifically aid the development process we also offer a range of preparative
chromatography column systems that allow users to rapidly and reproducibly pack
efficient columns with a wide range of media. The
Self Packer® column range
is available in 25, 50 and 100 mm diameters and features axial compression
technology offering a range of bed lengths with the option of jacketed columns
for precise temperature control. They can be used with any of EMD’s range of
chromatography media, but is ideally suited to our high performance silicas such
as LiChrospher® and our new
Pharmprep® family of materials.
The columns are also able to be used very successfully with our polymeric
materials such as the Fractogel® EMD media line. |
