| Dr. Tessa Chao has held the position of Technical and
Development Manager in the Life Science Division since 1997. She is
responsible for providing application and technical support for Benzonase®
endonuclease and Fractogel® EMD resins. Prior to joining EMD Chemicals
she was Assistant Director at Magainin Pharmaceuticals responsible
for the production purification of squalamine and aminosterols as
well as a peptide antibiotic. She has extensive experience in cGMP
manufacture of immunoconjugates as well as cGMP purification of monoclonal
antibodies from conditioned media. Dr. Chao earned her PhD. in Biochemistry
from Temple University, Philadelphia PA. |

Mr. Grant Espie

| Grant Espie has held the position of Market Manager
for Process Chromatography since 2001 and has worked in the Merck
organization since 1994. He is responsible for the development and
production of technical materials for the support of the Process Chromatography
Business in North America. He previously worked for Novasep as General
Manager and later as Engineering Manager. His extensive experience
in preparative column and system design enabled the setting up of
US based design and manufacturing of both lab and process scale equipment.
He has extensive experience in Silica based media manufacture and
characterization from one of the UK's original media manufacturers
- Phase Separations. Grant obtained his BSc. (Hons) in Applied Biology
at the University of Hertfordshire, UK. |
